AVENGERS: ENDGAME – but will it really be the end of the games?

Avengers: Endgame, the new Marvel superhero movie, has arrived. It’s a sort of conclusion to a story that has spanned for over ten years and been narrated through more than 20 films: I’ve seen them all! Though this time I didn’t see it first; but we can talk about what happens in the film in a few days, after the bucket of popcorn I will share with my girlfriend 😉

So as to involve those who are less passionate than me, I will provide you with some brief scattered info: I would like for those who follow The Space Violin Project and the adventures of Commander AJ to find a few seeds in this blog post (I have yet to reveal the bad guy).

REFRESHER

Avengers: Endgame is a Marvel film, born as a comic book company created by the genius of Stan Lee (who passed a few months ago). The Marvel cinematic universe is called MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe): so many films, protagonists and different stories, though all connected to one another. This has changed the way we perceive certain movies on the big screen.

MCU’s first film was Iron Man in 2008, which kicked off the “Infinity Saga”, divided into three Phases. The first one closed in 2012 with The Avengers (with the introduction of the many characters). The second ended in 2015 with Ant-Man, and explored the relationships between the many superheroes. The third is the one that includes Avengers: Endgame.

In the early films the plot was more or less always the following: evil versus good, or the good guys fighting each other and finally making up. In the end, however, the good guys never die.

With Avengers: Infinity War, everything changed. The villain won and literally erased half of the life forms from the Universe, including many of our superheroes. The Avengers: Infinity War finale left everyone in a cliffhanging drama and Avengers: Endgame is the film that tells us what happens next.

To make you understand why this is an eagerly awaited sequel, the “big” villain Thanos has disintegrated or killed all of the following (at least the “disintegrated” ones give you hope that they could somehow return): Spider-Man, Black Panther, Doctor Strange, Falcon, Scarlet Witch, Star -Lord, Drax, Groot, Mantis, Bucky Barnes, Nick Fury and Maria Hill. Among those killed by Thanos there are also Loki, Vision and Gamora.

The six original Avengers are the ones who are still alive: Captain America, Thor, Black Widow, Hawkeye, Hulk and Iron Man. Ant-Man and Captain Marvel will also be helping them out.
