Which songs will we dance to on New Year’s Eve 2020? Here’s what 2019 is leaving behind on the dance floor

I will tackle the new decade with an increasingly ‘dance music’ perspective, with a great desire to make you dance and enthuse you with my violin while going beyond the boundaries between dj – producer and musician – performer, and also between concert and djset; all too often categories feel tight on me!

I’ve always been a huge music listener, but since I have decided to venture into the production of electronic and dance music with my The Space Violin Project over the past few years, I’ve had to review the criteria of my music listening to better understand the trends of music to dance to, in its continuous and rapid change, its connection with pop, with its eternal flashback to the same musical elements that are re-mixed and re-proposed in always different ways, in the very particular aspects that regulate the dynamics of underground music, the choices of the DJs and all that great musical movement from all over the world; since I inaugurated The Space Violin Radio Show a couple of months ago, the ‘listening field’ has become even more extended but also further focused on the criteria of choice: the end game objective is to entertain our audience by making them dance and day dream.

Some of my previous blog posts already contained rankings and/or lists of various kinds: I find it’s a nice way to map the feelings and choices of that moment.

BEST SONGS NEW YEAR 2020

What will I load up in my pen-drive for the next parties? What will I bring with me in the 2020 DJ sets? Which songs win the ‘revival’ laziness and, mixed in the right dose, make an evening run from the warm up to the end of evening greetings? I tried to choose fifteen of them, limiting myself to 2019, also venturing myself beyond the genre I’m playing in my productions; after all, in the most successful events, the set always expands a little beyond its borders and so… here they are (not in order):

Only 14? Yes, because we close (or rather we open the evenings) with my track Warp 6 that, for this whole past year, has accompanied my entry on stage for my sets, merging perfectly into the mash ups and playlists of many DJs who’ve accompanied me in the performances: the next track, the first of 2020, will be dedicated to the most purely club sounds and I really hope that next year it will make the top 10… and not only for me, my sets and my blog 😉
